GPT Image 2 Review: Text, Editing & User Opinions
GPT Image 2 is an image-generation and editing route available in Nexscope. The useful review question is where its layout and text handling outweigh possible weaknesses in texture or reference edits. This article combines the current route specification with attributed public reports, rather than claiming a new laboratory benchmark.

Our take: Public users often praise GPT Image 2 for text, composition and detailed instructions, but texture and image-to-image behaviour attract criticism. The Nexscope route offers 1K–4K output and quality controls. Clean lettering alone is not proof that a product label, diagram or factual claim is correct.

What is GPT Image 2?
On Nexscope, GPT Image 2 is a still-image generation route with its own Playground. The following are route-specific capabilities from the current model documentation, not a list of every feature offered by the underlying model family on other services.
| Capability | Nexscope route |
|---|---|
| Output | 1K, 2K, 4K |
| References | Optional; up to 10 images |
| Quality | low, medium, high |
| Custom size | Text-to-image only; use instead of resolution and ratio |
What are its strengths?
The route exposes both quality and resolution choices, giving creative teams more than a single undifferentiated output setting. It is reasonable to shortlist it for compositions that contain a headline, labelled objects or a tightly specified arrangement. The ability to request those features is documented; their exact accuracy is still an output question.
For commercial work, content accuracy and typographic appearance should be assessed separately. A crisp label can contain the wrong words, and an attractive diagram can express an incorrect relationship. That distinction matters more than whether the overall image looks polished at first glance.
What are its limitations?
Public reports identify natural texture and some reference-editing behaviour as weaknesses. Those are task-specific observations rather than a universal inability to produce realistic images. We have not measured their frequency on Nexscope, so we cannot turn them into a rejection percentage.
Custom-size support also has constraints: it applies to text-to-image, without reference images, and replaces the ordinary resolution and ratio fields. A supported size is not evidence that a model preserves a photographed SKU. This review contains no new generation timing, quality score or image batch.
What do users say about GPT Image 2?
A July 16, 2026 first-person assessment praised prompt adherence, clean text and bounded edits, but said some skin and natural textures looked plastic. The writer mentioned using Atlas Cloud, so these are not Nexscope measurements.
An April 22 nature-comparison thread criticised visible repetitive patterns. Another April image-to-image report described an unwanted reference-overlay effect. These examples are useful counterweights to polished text demos. Confidence: limited; several anecdotes, different settings and no representative sample.
Who should consider it?
A good candidate to evaluate for text-led commercial compositions and structured visual briefs. Less certain as the default for subtle organic texture or strict reference reconstruction. Read every generated word, compare the subject with its reference and avoid interpreting a plausible-looking diagram as factual evidence.
